Welcome to Edinburgh Orthopaedics

The Edinburgh University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery encompasses one of the longest established Orthopaedic and Trauma Centres in the United Kingdom. It is based in the New Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh, Scotland. The Department offers a comprehensive portfolio of musculoskeletal services to the local community, Scotland and beyond.

The Department provides an opportunity to gain a well-rounded education and surgical training in the fundamentals of the science and the art of orthopaedic and trauma surgery. It offers a well structured programme to address the areas of sub-specialty including, arthroplasty, oncology, trauma, hand/upper limb, spine, foot/ankle, limb reconstruction and paediatrics.

There are opportunities for undergraduate elective attachments and special study modules.

Postgraduate research opportunities exist within the established training programme and associated research units.
